What is the cost of the M.A. from DU?
- The cost of tuition for the entire master's degree is approximately $25,000. DTR will assist in providing access to financial support.
- Residents may take out a federally guaranteed Stafford loan in order to pay the tuition.
- Residents may take up to $20,500 in Stafford loans per academic year. The MA coursework will span two academic years, enabling program participants to take out loans that exceed the cost of tuition.
- Stafford Loans are federal student loans made available to college and university students to supplement personal and family resources, scholarships, grants, and work-study. Nearly all students are eligible to receive Stafford loans regardless of credit. A portion of the loan may be federally subsidized, meaning interest and payments are deferred until six months after graduation. The remaining portion is not federally subsidized, meaning interest will be accrued during the time the student is enrolled at DU. Payments, however, are still deferred until six months after graduation. DTR will not reimburse any interest accrued on a loan used to pay for tuition.
- Subsidized loans are awarded based on financial need. Of the $20,500 available per academic cycle, up to $8,500 may be federally subsidized.
- During Years Three through Five of the program, DTR will partially reimburse the Resident for tuition costs that have not been met through other means.
