The Denver Teacher Residency program is operated under the auspices of the Janus Education Alliance, a partnership between Denver Public Schools, the University of Denver, the Denver Public Schools Foundation, and Janus Capital Group.

The Janus Education Alliance (JEA), a partnership of the Janus Foundation and Denver Public Schools (DPS), is a visionary enterprise created to accelerate student achievement by attracting and retaining world-class teachers and investing in them at the most critical stages of their careers - the early years. Through a variety of cutting-edge initiatives, the Janus Education Alliance hopes to lead the nation in implementing strategies for training, developing and inspiring the best educators. The Denver Teacher Residency is a core strategic component of the Janus Education Alliance.

Coursework for the Denver Teacher Residency was developed in partnership with the University of Denver's Morgridge College of Education, an accredited university committed to improving the Denver community by providing distinctive learning opportunities, research support, and innovative collaborations.
The Morgridge College of Education strives to be a global leader in innovative and effective approaches for promoting learning throughout the lifespan. Transcending traditional ideas about education and schooling, the school embraces a new, comprehensive vision of learning as a lifelong activity that involves the whole person and can occur through a variety of methods, anywhere and at any time. MCE promotes educational change and social equity and will provide leadership for the improvement of education, mental health, and information services and systems.
