Lisa Daunora – Knapp Elementary, 4th Grade

I spent five years as a flight attendant and seven years in the nonprofit world working with low income families. I received my BA from Metro State College in speech communication. I chose DTR because I wanted to become the most effective urban educator possible. I love the team atmosphere of DTR, the hands on work in the classroom and the support. I'm enjoying the immediate application of what we are learning in the classroom to working with our students. I'm eager to learn everything I need to become an effective teacher. To date, I have been most surprised by the lack of stability and support in the homes of our students.
