Anna Jankowski – Montclair Elementary, 2nd Grade

I am originally from Denver, and graduated from the University of San Diego. After school, I did AmeriCorps, and then worked on a teen pregnancy prevention project in Aurora. I was working with high risk youth at the teen pregnancy and prevention project and wanted to do early intervention, so DTR provided the opportunity to work in high needs schools and become a teacher. The best part of being in DTR has been the chance to integrate theory into practice. I am looking forward to getting to know the students and their unique learning styles. I am eager to learn how to be an effective teacher, and to work toward closing the achievement gap.
