Edie Pena – Greenwood Elementary, Special Ed

I attended Metro State College for criminology and psychology. Before DTR I was a counselor in special education learning for life. I chose DTR because I get to give back to the community where I grew up. I love the diversity in the DTR program. I'm looking forward to the teacher/student interaction in my classroom this year. The biggest challenge for teachers today is diversity – and the lack of tools in the teacher toolbox. I've been surprised by my ability to learn by different means.
